“Austrian Airlines Group executive board members Andreas Bierwirth and Peter Malanik said Friday in Vienna that the company does "not have enough reserves to get through the crisis" that helped push it to a €429.5 million ($550.3 million) loss in 2008, a reversal from the €3.3 million profit in 2007 and the worst result in its history.”

Airline Failure - Notification from MPI Brokers - Air Tanzania
The media reported last week that over the weekend the entire fleet of Air Tanzania, Tanzania's national carrier, has been temporarily grounded. The suspension of operations comes after the Tanzanian Civil Aviation Authority cancelled the carrier's operating licence, following an inspection that revealed hundreds of operational breaches. Travellers holding pre-booked tickets with the carrier are advised to contact their travel agent for alternative flight arrangements.

MPI Brokers announces new cover in Overseas Resort Staff policy
For the 2008/09 season, all staff who have Part B cover under the MPI Overseas Resort Staff Insurance will now be covered for loss or theft of passport. This includes travel and accommodation costs to obtain a replacement.
