Who's Who

There are usually six organisations involved in the process of selling and servicing a Travel or Wintersports Insurance policy.

The Tour Operator who sells the policy to his customer or in some cases it is included with the holiday.

The Insurance Broker advises the Tour Operator about Insurance and how his plan should be structured and negotiates on his behalf with underwriters.

An underwriter is a person who works for an Insurance Company who underwrites Insurance on behalf of his Company. He sets the premiums and terms, and negotiates with the Broker.

An Insurance Company takes premium in exchange for accepting risk, which may result in a claim under the policy.

A Loss Adjuster is appointed to handle claims and in the case of MPI this is provided by Claims International Ltd.

A Medical Emergency Assistance Company is appointed to handle medical emergencies, and in the case of MPI, this is provided by International Medical Rescue.
