Snow Report from Pila

It is the 7th February and a glorious sunny day, cold and dominated by high pressure. A welcome change from rain earlier in the week. Pistes are hard with a light dusting of new snow with icy patches on the lower slopes. This will be good for today’s parallel slalom as it will become less rutty.

Off piste is holding a hard crust following the rain having now frozen, again with a light dusting of new snow and breakable in the trees. Watch out for an unstable layer later in the season particularly if it gets very cold.

All in all good piste skiing considering it has not snowed for 3 days (light dusting) and the resort and pisteures have made a good job of keeping runs open.
