MPI and MTGY heading for Flaine and the British Schoolgirls’ Races

MPI Brokers and its sister company Mind The Gap Year (MTGY) will be at Flaine in the French Alps this weekend as sponsors of the annual British Schoolgirls’ Races (BSR).

The event, under the auspices of the Ladies Ski Club, has attracted 33 teams from many of the top UK schools and leading ski clubs.

This year’s event – the eighth that MPI and MTGY have sponsored – opens with a training day for the teenage skiers on Sunday 25 January, followed by two days’ intensive racing. The highlight of the event is the parallel slalom knockout competition.

Michael Pettifer, MPI Managing Director, says: “BSR is a wonderful opportunity to see emerging ski talent in action. In past years it has proved to be an important step in the development of our competitive skiers, and some of the UK’s top women skiers made their racing debuts here.

“The event is significant for us because of our work with young travellers and our focus on Wintersports Insurance. In addition, we are one of the few insurance providers to cover ski racing, so BSR is particularly pertinent.”
